Louvier What stops you from making? #1
In the thread discuss what specifically stop you from developing projects (besides necessary tasks like jobs and delays like power outages). You want to avoid things like difficulty and focus on purpose.

I'll list my own. Technical achievement was never an issue for me, people attracted to it are.

1. Associations and reputation. The microcelebs I encounter are fueled by self hatred. They see me as Jesus and they see themselves as Judas. It's destructive in ways they aren't aware of and to greater culture.

There's no chance in leaving a lasting legacy if there's baggage associated with you that no one asked for except those that want impose their identity upon you. I must be the perfected character that cannot have any embarrassment in the past nor future. There's too many loose ends.

2. Lexicon poisoning. Read too much online and even smart people have this. It's infectious, there's no preventative medicine. Infohazards are real in a sense, and they can end up with others categorizing your art or inventions. This makes whatever you make, even when it has "a reason for being" with a divine mandate (as opposed to an exercise as most projects are made) is seen on equal importance of a shallow marketed copy of something else. "You can't be yourself, you have to be a certain director, but at the same time you will never be that director."

Ristretto #2
Outside of the usual, and the occasional fall into that anxious sort of mood where I can't bring myself to more than toy pointlessly with any given thing I'm doing--which felt crippling a year or two ago*--I've actually been fairly busy. Just haven't finished any single thing (I haven't touched Juere in a while) and haven't gotten any of the new thing I've started to a level where I've felt comfortable posting about it here.

Which is silly. This was supposed to be a sort of daily work journal for myself (or better yet, to find somebody else to collaborate with) so if anything I should be posting all the half finished things I've been working on.

*Chalk it up to the triple-split.
